Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have interrogated the immediate past Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mr Mele Kyari, over the company’s spendings on the rehabilitation of refineries.
Kyari was questioned by investigators at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Abuja.
Nigeria has four state-run refineries namely Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC), Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) and two Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC).
The refineries have installed capacity to produce 445,000 barrels per day (bpd).
