The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Musa has called for the tracking of terrorism funding in Nigeria as part of non-kinetic means of fighting terror activities across the globe.
The CDS made the call when received chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mr Ola Olukoyede at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
He assured that armed forces would not derail from its commitment to ensuring the survival of current democratic dispensation.
He commended the EFCC chairman for his unique approach of leveraging on technology to fight corruption and other forms of economic crimes.
He said the armed forces has zero tolerance for corrupt practices, hence the adoption of proceedings of a General Court Martial (GCM) to checkmate personnel.
The CDS urged the EFCC boss to encourage public office holders and other Nigerians in positions of authority to uphold good governance to forestall economic breakdown and insecurity.
He said the armed forces collaborate with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited and other stakeholders to fight oil theft in the country.
He stressed the need for the use of census, installation of CCTV in strategic points to contain the cases of corruption, terrorism and other forms of insecurity in the country.
Also speaking, the EFCC chairman the commission seeks collaboration of the armed forces in the fight against corruption.
He said the war against corruption must be won as the menace has destroyed the nations economy and at same time dented her good image.
According to him, if drastic measures are not taken to nip it in the bud, the country would be put into a jeopardy in the next 10 years.
