The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Wednesday received the governors of Zamfara and Plateau States at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The governor also called for more funding to the armed forces and sought concerted efforts between the locals and security agencies in the state.
In his response, the CDS commiserated with the people of Zamfara state and assured of the readiness of troops to provide every neccessary security assistance to the state. He pledged to ensure that the synergy between troops and other security agencies is enhanced.
Similarly, the executive governor of Plateau State, Mr Caleb Muftwang, who also visited the CDS, Major General Musa’s appointment came at a critical time when his professionalism is needed to address the worsening security challenges in the country. He expressed optimism that the CDS will make an impact by bringing his wealth of experience to bare in dealing with the security challenges in Plateau state in particular and the country in general.
While addressing the Plateau state governor, the CDS said the military was determined to restore peace in the the state. Major General Musa condole with the governor over the unnecessary killings in the State.
The CDS stressed the need to know the root causes of the problems in order to find lasting solutions to them:
