The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested two men over an allegedly stolen vehicle and a company employee suspected of vandalising an armoured cable in Kano State.

State Commandant Mohammed Agalama announced the arrests during a news conference at the command’s headquarters on Friday.

He said patrol officers intercepted Abdullahi Sani, 61, and Abdullahi Suleiman, 63, at about 2:10am at Ladanai Junction along the Eastern Bypass.

The suspects were travelling in a red Toyota Carina II Wagon reportedly stolen three days earlier.

Police recovered the vehicle, bearing Nasarawa State registration number LFA 417 AA.

Agalama identified Sani as a resident of Kurna Tudun Bojuwa and Suleiman as a resident of Kantudu, both in Dala Local Government Area.

In a separate case, the command arrested Suleiman Shehu, 45, over the alleged vandalism of an armoured cable belonging to Triumph Nigeria Limited in Bompai, Nassarawa Local Government Area.

The commandant said Shehu was a company employee.

All three suspects remained in custody while preliminary investigations continued, he said, adding that they would be prosecuted upon completion of the inquiries.

Agalama commended the officers involved and said regular patrols and intelligence-led operations remained essential to preventing crime.

He pledged continued cooperation with other security agencies and urged residents to report suspicious activities through credible information.
